EASL is grateful to all who attended the 49th annual meeting in London, April 9-13. ILC 2014 achieved record-breaking attendance of over 10,810 participants from more than 107 countries. Such impressive results are proof of the extremely high quality scientific programme.
During the 50th Annual Congress, the liver community reflected on EASL achievements accomplished to date and projected into the future. The International Liver Congress™ is now positioned as the leading international congress on liver-related diseases and. EASL has been a fascinating adventure led by visionaries and pioneers. The development of our association, rich in tools and learning opportunities, continues to support medical professionals succeed in continuously improving patient welfare in Europe and beyond.
In 2015, EASL not only celebrated 50 years of achievements and advancements, but also marked the 30th anniversary of the Journal of Hepatology giving us the opportunity to look back on an exciting journey full of discoveries in Hepatology. The basis for these discoveries and the foundation of the journal’s success is only possible thanks to the ongoing support by the authors who trust in the Journal of Hepatology as the place to publish their best research. The journal goes from strength to strength and its impact factor is now almost 10, a journey not yet at its end. The challenges ahead are vast, but we are convinced that with the support of the Editorial team and the authors, EASL will be successful in its quest to having the leading international Journal on liver-related diseases.
