Below are the different options for your travel to the venue:

There are two international airports in Paris.

  • Roissy Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) is located 23 km northeast of the city.
  • Orly Airport is located 14 km southeast of the city.

From CDG airport to the congress venue:

Take the RER B and stop at ‘Cité universitaire’. Then, tramway line 3A towards ‘Pont de Garigliano’ and stop at ‘Porte de Versailles-Parc des expositions’.

From ORLY airport to the congress venue:

Take the ‘OrlyVal’ train and stop at “Antony”.  Then, the RER B towards ‘Aéroport Charles de Gaulle’ and get off at ‘Cité Universitaire’. Finally, take the tramway line 3A towards ‘Pont de Garigliano’ and exit at ‘Porte de Versailles-Parc des expositions’.

From CDG airport to Paris city centre:

Take the RER B and stop at ‘Chatelet-les-Halles’.

From ORLY airport to Paris city centre:

Take the ‘OrlyVal’ train and stop at ‘Antony’. Then, the RER B towards ‘Aéroport Charles de Gaulle’ and get off at ‘Chatelet-les-Halles’.

Rates:

Metro, RER, tram and bus rides inside Paris: EUR 1.90 per ticket, EUR 7.50 for a daily card.
RER ticket from/to CDG: EUR 10.30.
Orlyval train ride (from/to Orly airport): EUR 9.30.

Free shuttles will be available from CDG airport to ‘Paris Expo Porte de Versailles’ and vice versa.

You must sign up via the online booking platform at least 24 hours prior to your trip.

Shuttles will only be available on the following dates:

  • Tuesday 10 April 2018
  • Wednesday 11 April 2018
  • Sunday 15 April 2018
  • Monday 16 April 2018

Shuttles will be clearly identified with ILC 2018 signage.

From CDG airport, it takes 48 minutes by taxi to reach the congress centre.
There is a fixed fare of EUR 55.00 to get to the left bank where ‘Paris Expo Porte de Versailles’ is located.

From ORLY airport, it takes 28 minutes by taxi to reach the congress centre.
There is a fixed fare of EUR 30.00 to get to the left bank where ‘Paris Expo Porte de Versailles’ is located.

Visa

It is recommended to apply as early as possible for a visa as the application process can be time consuming.
Visa regulations depend on your nationality and country of origin. In case of visa rejection, EASL cannot be held responsible and therefore cannot refund any registration and accommodation fees.

Please refer to the French Diplomatie Website for the list of consulates, or visit the Visa HQ website for more information.

Regulations are however subject to change. It is therefore recommended to check whether you require a visa with your local French embassy. Please note that EASL is not responsible for the information provided on external websites. Congrex, the official registration agency, may help registered delegates by providing a visa invitation letter.

Visa invitation letter

A visa invitation letter can be requested during the registration process by clicking on the module “visa invitation letter” on your personal desktop. You will be able to download it as soon as your registration is paid and confirmed.

If you require an official, stamped and sealed invitation letter, the ILC official registration agency will be pleased to provide it to you, upon request and full payment of the registration fees. It is to be understood that such letters are intended to help potential delegates raise travel funds or obtain a visa for the strict duration of The International Liver CongressTM 2018 (11-15 April 2018). It is not a commitment on the part of the congress organiser to provide any financial support.

Currency & ATM

There is an ATM machine right after the main entrance doors of the congress venue, ‘Paris expo Porte de Versailles – Pavillon 7’.

The currency used in France is the Euro.

Language

The language spoken in Paris is French. The official language of the congress is English. Simultaneous translation will not be provided.
